The BAN-TYO (「BAN-TYO」or alternatively バンチョー Banchō) (Dub: Bancho[1]/Boss[1]/Ringleader[2]) is a group of five Digimon in the Digital World with the word “Bancho” in their names, a term that loosely translates to “ringleader”. All five of them possess enormous pride and strong conviction, and wear a long school uniform jacket known as a “gakuran”. The title of “Bancho” was originally taken by Digimon who watched old movies and admired the idea of such “ringleaders”. Upon their demise, these Digmon would then bestow the title onto befitting Digimon of the next generation, creating a custom of inheritance. Apparently there are other Digimon out there bearing this title. [3] They are said to be the enemies of the D-Brigade[4].

A Darkdramon, still trying to complete its "Codename: BAN-TYO" mission, becomes known for appearing when powerful entities would clash, in the hopes of finding the BAN-TYO, after which it would destroy the area.
Bancho Lilimon became a member of the group after fighting countless battles in the Digital World then eventually decided to live in the Village of Beginnings.
Bancho Golemon, Bancho Leomon, and Bancho Stingmon are also members of the group.
